Introduction

Gmail is Google's free, web-based e-mail service.

Cerb4 and Gmail aren't mutually exclusive; in fact, they compliment each other nicely. You can forward all your mail to Gmail and then download it using Cerb4.

If you already have a Gmail account that you'd like to use, skip ahead.

Configuring Gmail for use with Cerb4

Setting up the proper sender address

We want e-mail sent through Gmail's SMTP server to use your official domain and not your new example@gmail.com address.

Consolidating your other POP3 accounts

If you'd like your helpdesk to check multiple e-mail accounts, you have a couple options:

If you haven't installed Cerb4 yet

If you've already installed Cerb4, skip ahead.

When running through the installer, enter the following information at the appropriate steps:

General Settings

Outgoing Mail

If you have already installed Cerb4

Incoming Mail

Outgoing Mail

The last thing you need to do is configure Cerb4 to use your main helpdesk e-mail address as your default sender.
